This Is True Depression Help

If it ever becomes necessary to seek depression help, you can choose between several different options. You might take depression medications. Or you could consider therapy, and perhaps talk your way out of depression. Or you can buy one of the hundreds of products on the internet that all claim they can help you end your depression.

But not one of those options really deals with the root cause of depression. That's because, depression is basically the result of shutting down your feelings. Depression happens when you keep shutting off your emotional flow till it reaches a point you feel so little, that you can't help getting depressed.

Here's the ugly truth: We've all been conditioned almost since birth that your feelings have little or no value. Feelings serve no useful purpose and you better stay away from them.

So we've all learned early in life to shut down our emotions. You repress them; you suppress them; you depress them; you do whatever you have to do to not feel them. You learn how to control and manage your feelings.

All for the sole purpose of not feeling them. But you also block your power and your aliveness when you refuse to feel your feelings. Your actual vitality itself is intimately connected to your emotions. Emotions are the source of life. And when you shut them down, it deadens you.

And then you reach a tipping point where you fall off the cliff and down into an ugly dark pit of depression. And this is when you find yourself in dire need of help. Life becomes hopeless and very scary and you can't find a reason to even stay alive. Because your very source of aliveness has been eliminated.

This is the dilemma. Depression becomes a dead feeling of despair and darkness since you blocked your feelings. That's what a lack of feelings feels like.

Some will object, and proclaim they do feel their feelings. They feel them all the time. And they hurt something awful. That's why I try not to feel them. Which I believe is the whole problem.

Initially you shut down your feelings just a little, but it does not help. So you then close them down more. And when that doesn't help, you shut them down even more still. This can go on until you fall off a cliff.

The answer to all this is to get some clarity of the situation. You think your feelings are causing the problem in the first place, and I am saying that the depression comes from shutting down your feelings. Period. It can be no other way.

You can begin turning things around if you'll just be willing to feel every single feeling that comes up, even the despair and darkness. Now this is not the whole answer however it's an important first step. The important thing to understand is that this can turn around. You don't have to stay depressed.

You have a powerful self correcting mechanism within you right now, and if you will just turn to it, you can begin to heal. And it doesn't involve talk therapy or drugs either.
